Reefer vessels
The application for reefer vessels is typical insulated pipes in compressor room and in the cargo area.
The pipes that are normally insulated is:
- Brine pipes [NACL2]
- Pipes for ammonia [NH3]
- Freon pipes [HFC]
- Carbon dioxide [CO2]
- Propylen Glycol
- Etylen Glycol
One of the key factors regarding insulation is actually the ability to reduce heat loss to an absolute minimum. Another very important factor with especially cold systems is to avoid and condensation on the pipes. This is obtained by using LOGSTOR pre-insulated pipes as this design will not allow water vapour to penetrate through the insulation.
On top of this you need to add the benefits of a maintenance free pipe system with a design lifetime of 30 years.
